School of Music Friday Lunchtime Concert Series

The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora

The not-to-be-missed University of Canterbury School of Music Lunchtime Concert Series features international, national and local musicians who focus on innovative and modern music across all genres.

Concerts are held each Friday during university term time.

Term one concerts

22 February: UC Staff and Students Present – To launch our lunchtime series for 2019, UC staff and students present an eclectic comment on summer.

1 March: Music of Franz Schubert – University of Canterbury staff and students present a concert of music by Franz Schubert.

8 March: Folk Music with Strings – Summer ‘folk music’ – a reflection with some strings attached.

15 March: Music beneath the summer – Join students and staff of UC for a concert of music to bid farewell to summer.

22 March: UC pianists present – Come and see UC piano students in concert.

29 March: Voices of UC present the unexpected – Come and join voice students for a concert of music that may be not exactly what you expect!

5 April: Wind players of UC present – A concert presented by wind students from the School of Music.

The concerts are held in the Recital Room at the University of Canterbury Arts in the Chemistry building at the Arts Centre. They are every Friday during university term time from 1.10pm to 2.00pm.
